We utilize ultrasound in various ways to screen patients for DVT (Deep Vein thrombosis/blood clots), varicose veins, venous stasis ulcers, and venous incompetence or insufficiency of the vessel. This helps assess for potentially life threatening conditions such as a DVT along with potential reasons for leg pain and non-healing or slow-healing sores and rashes on the legs.
We are also able to assess the blood flow in the upper extremities for potential clots and problem with blood flow back to the heart from the arms.
