AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) is an enlarged area of the artery within our abdomen which can be potentially life threatening. We evaluate the abdomen to reveal the abnormally wide pulsation of the abdominal aorta (the final section of the aorta, which is the largest artery in the body).
Medicare covers ultrasound screening for AAA for men ages 65 to 75 with a history of smoking, as well as men and women ages 65 to 75 with a family history of AAA.
Abdominal Aortic Stenosis is a narrowing in the blood vessel which can cause a decrease in the amount of blood flow to the lower extremities.
Renal artery ultrasound measures the blood flow to the kidneys. Often this is used to assess possible reasons for uncontrolled hypertension.
